Pied installs and organizes Piper text-to-speech voices, allowing written content to be turned into speech through a Linux speech service. It prepares the connection between the Piper neural text-to-speech engine and Speech Dispatcher, handling the configuration needed for them to work together. After that setup, users can download different Piper voices directly through Pied instead of handling each voice as a separate installation task. Downloaded voices can also be maintained from the same application, making it easier to keep a selected set available.
