About
Generate a configurable bonsai tree directly in a terminal, with cbonsai creating a text-based scene that you can view from the command line. Written in C with ncurses, it draws the tree in a character-based display rather than a graphical window. Its generator automatically creates the tree while allowing you to control its coloring and position through command-line options.
Static mode presents a completed bonsai for a finished scene, while live mode shows the tree developing step by step. These modes suit Linux users who want a quiet terminal display, a small visual diversion during command-line work, or a customizable bonsai scene to watch grow. The CLI controls let users adjust both the generation behavior and how the result appears.
Tsugu publishes cbonsai for Linux, and version 1.4.2 requires Linux with snapd on amd64 hardware. The available snap is an unofficial build, with problems directed to its linked repository rather than the original developers. cbonsai is freeware.
Requires Linux + snapd · Architecture: amd64
