CEmu lets you run TI-84 Plus CE and TI-83 Premium CE calculator software on a computer, reproducing the calculators’ environment for study and experimentation. As education software, it gives learners a practical way to work with these calculator platforms and suits developers building or testing CE software.

Built for macOS, the current 2.0 release runs on Apple Silicon (arm64), while native builds are also available for Windows and Linux. Initial setup involves a one-time connection of a calculator, after which the emulator provides accurate, fast operation with adjustable speed throttling. Its resizable calculator display can stay above other windows, and users can capture, copy, or drag and drop screens as PNG files, record activity as animated PNG, and use customizable keybinding presets.

CEmu can send and receive files, including calculator apps and operating-system files, making it useful for transferring software during lessons or development. The interface also exposes display-refresh controls, an FPS indicator, and import/export for RAM, ROM, and image data.

For CE developers, command-line options and IPC support help coordinate multiple CEmu instances, while selectable ASIC or hardware revisions cover A, pre-I, and M+ variants. Stepping and jumping through code, read/write/execute breakpoints, and an eZ80 disassembler support low-level debugging and introspection. CEmu is freeware and stands apart from ordinary calculator simulators through its combination of two CE models, cross-platform native implementation, and developer-oriented diagnostics.
