EV3 Classroom1.5.0.1

EV3 Classroom supports classroom activities built around the LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 Core Set, giving teachers and students a software companion for STEM, coding, and robotics lessons. It is intended for schools using LEGO Education materials, where the EV3 hardware provides the practical robotics context. The program’s role is focused rather than broad: it accompanies the EV3 learning experience instead of presenting itself as a general-purpose development environment.

LEGO Education also provides curriculum material, teaching support, and eLearning resources for using EV3 Classroom in school instruction. These materials help educators structure coding and robotics activities while students work with the EV3 system. The surrounding EV3 ecosystem can also support Python programming through an EV3 Brick connected to Visual Studio Code.

That Python workflow uses the EV3 MicroPython image on a microSD card, which is inserted into the brick before booting it for programming. Users can return to the standard LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 firmware, and documentation plus sample API code is available for this approach.

EV3 Classroom 1.5.0.1 runs on macOS and supports both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. It is freeware in the Education category, and its use is tied to the LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 hardware context rather than to standalone lessons unrelated to the Core Set.
