ColorSmith - Modern Color Picker

ColorSmith - Modern Color Picker is an open-source color management and design tool for Linux. It is intended for developers, designers, and digital artists who need to select, adjust, organize, and convert colors. The application is part of the Graphics & Design category and combines color picking, gradient creation, and palette management in one interface.

Its screen color picker can select colors from anywhere on the screen through native portal integration. An interactive HSV color plane and brightness slider support precise color selection, while a random color generator can provide color ideas. ColorSmith supports RGBA values, including alpha-channel transparency, and converts between HEX, RGB, and RGBA formats. Color values can be copied to the clipboard with one click.

The gradient maker creates linear and radial gradients with adjustable multi-stop controls and rotation from 0 to 360 degrees. Users can add, remove, and adjust gradient stops, generate random gradient combinations, and view gradients in fullscreen mode. Gradients can be copied as CSS, copied or exported as SVG, and exported as PNG images with custom dimensions.

ColorSmith can manage multiple palettes, add the current color quickly, and assign optional names to palette colors. It can also generate palettes from images using K-means clustering, with JSON import and export for palettes and controls to create, rename, delete, clear, and switch between them. MirrorNest mirrors the official Linux build directly on its own storage and scans it for malware before publishing.
