ColorSnapper 2 lets you magnify any pixel on your Mac’s screen, select its exact color, and export the value in a format suited to your work. It targets Photo & Graphics workflows where designers and developers need to inspect screen colors instead of estimating them by eye. Invoke the magnifying glass from a menu item or global shortcut, select a pixel, and press Return to copy it in the chosen format; Option uses the previous format.

Hi-Precision mode selects individual physical pixels on Retina displays, while also increasing magnification and mouse sensitivity on standard-density screens. The picker works across multiple displays, resolutions, and pixel densities, and remains visible while switching between Spaces and applications. Gestures and keyboard shortcuts can zoom, resize the magnifier, cycle through formats, or move the selection one pixel at a time.

Colors can be adjusted through the integrated Apple Color Panel, saved as favorites, or retrieved from a history containing hundreds of previous picks. A format filter searches more than 30 export choices, including Generic, CSS, NSColor, UIColor, Swift, Android, Java, .NET, CGColor, and OpenGL, and Command-V pastes the result into a code editor using your coding style. Pro adds modern CSS lch(), oklch(), and oklab() output plus an LCH editor for perceptually uniform lightness and contrast adjustments.

Version 1.7.1 is freeware for macOS 14 Sonoma or later, supports Intel and Apple Silicon, and is specified to work from macOS 14.6 onward. It supports light and dark appearances, while Pro is a one-time in-app upgrade with lifetime access and no subscription or recurring payments.
