DesignCraft lets you compose multi-page documents for print and digital publishing, arranging text and artwork in a structured page layout. It provides spreads and parent pages, frames, threaded stories, paragraph and character styles, swatches, and text wrap so recurring layouts and linked text can be managed directly on the canvas. Rebuilt in pure Rust, it combines a native layout workspace with a professional paragraph composer.

Its Knuth–Plass composition, dictionary-based hyphenation, optical margin alignment, and baseline grids refine typography while preserving matching line breaks on screen and in exported PDF. Print output can contain selectable text, embedded fonts, CMYK and spot colors, bleed, crop marks, and archival PDF/A data. Multithreaded SIMD rendering, cached composition, copy-on-write documents, and instant undo keep editing responsive.

Designers, publishers, and teams preparing brochures, books, posters, or other print pieces can use it when page structure and press-ready output matter. A documented native format, PNG export, and layout-interchange import and export support source-document storage, raster previews, and moving layouts between tools. DesignCraft’s page-layout and publishing functionality is still in development.

On macOS, version 0.14.0 runs on Intel and Apple Silicon; it is free software with open-source code. ArtCraft Launcher manages DesignCraft and other Crafting Apps, selecting the appropriate build and keeping them updated, while a standalone edition supports independent use. A headless, universal macOS command-line tool is available for scripts and agents, and the application operates without a subscription, licence server, or telemetry.
