Discord1.0.168

Discord lets people exchange messages, voice chat, and video in one place for everyday conversation, gaming, study groups, and shared hobbies. Direct Messages connect two people, while group chats support up to 10 participants and servers can accommodate practically unlimited members. Servers divide conversations into topic-based text channels, giving communities spaces to collaborate, share material, or chat without overcrowding one thread.

Users can join a voice channel when available so friends can see their presence and drop in without placing a call. Low-latency voice and video support face-to-face conversation, game streaming, screen sharing, and group drawing sessions. Server owners and moderators can assign special permissions, control member access, and create private channels for organized communities.

Discord suits school clubs, gaming groups, worldwide art communities, small friend circles, and other groups that meet regularly online. Version 1.0.168 is available for Linux, with companion clients for macOS, Windows, iOS, Android, and web browsers. The service is freeware, and its desktop application is built with Electron using JavaScript, React, Elixir, and Rust.
