foobar20002.26

foobar2000 plays audio through a desktop player, giving listeners a direct way to hear music on their computer. Users can select audio content and use the playback interface for focused listening, background music, or checking an individual track during everyday work. It suits casual listeners as well as people who keep their music sessions centered on a computer.

In the Music & Audio category, foobar2000 serves the straightforward task of listening to audio from the desktop. Its typical use is to bring up the player when listening is the priority and control the current audio from there.

The current release is version 2.26 for macOS 11 “Big Sur” or newer. It runs on both Intel and Apple Silicon processors. People using legacy hardware can consult the additional legacy-hardware support details, while older releases compatible with earlier macOS versions are available in the old foobar2000 versions archive. The software is freeware released under the foobar2000 license.
