JaMuz plays music on an Android device while giving you tools to organize playlists and edit track information. Its playlist and tag editors handle user tags, ratings, and genres, while one-finger controls and voice commands support hands-free playback. ReplayGain works with MP3 files, and FLAC ReplayGain is supported when the files come from JaMuz Desktop.

The app can merge ratings, custom tags, BPM, genres, and listening statistics—including last-played time, play count, and added date—with JaMuz Desktop and compatible players such as Mixxx, Kodi, and guayadeque. Over Wi-Fi, you select a playlist in JaMuz Desktop, connect the Android app, and synchronize its tracks to the phone. This combines local playback, library data synchronization, and portable file transfer for people managing music across a computer and mobile device.

JaMuz also connects to JaMuz Desktop as a remote through SSE, showing playback state and position and sending play, pause, next, previous, forward, rewind, and volume commands through buttons or swipes. Version 0.6.14 includes selectable BlueGrey, Teal, Grey, and Yellow themes, updates the database only for modified files, and restores the appropriate local or remote display after resuming or disconnecting.

JaMuz 0.6.14 is open-source, runs on Android 5.0 or later with universal architecture, and its build uses Android API 36, Java 21, updated Android build tools and Gradle, plus a ProGuard configuration. It is aimed at listeners who use JaMuz Desktop on Linux, Raspberry Pi, or Windows and want synchronized music data, Wi-Fi transfers, or remote playback control from an Android phone.
