About

license-manager-agent reports cluster status to a License Manager API and supports reconciliation of reservations and license activity on the host. Delivered as a snap, it deploys the License Manager Agent Python package and acts as an essential component of the License Manager suite.

Before use, configure backend-base-url with the License Manager API server URL and oidc-domain with the authentication server domain; these two values are mainly adjusted in development, while other environments should retain their normal settings. Authentication also requires the OIDC application’s client ID and client secret. Optional paths select sacctmgr, scontrol, and squeue, defaulting respectively to /usr/bin/sacctmgr, /usr/bin/scontrol, and /usr/bin/squeue.

License-specific integrations use lmutil for FlexLM, rlmutil for RLM, lsdyna or lstc_qrun for LS-Dyna, lmxendutil for LM-X, and olixtool for OLicense, with defaults under /usr/local/bin. Reconciliation defaults to the license-manager-reservation reservation and the license-manager system user, while stat-interval reports cluster status every 60 seconds. License-server commands have a six-second tool-timeout, and their output is decoded as utf-8 by default.

It suits administrators operating clusters whose license usage must be coordinated through the License Manager service and can accommodate alternate binary locations through its path settings. Version 0.2.0-4acb5e5 runs on amd64 Linux systems with snapd and is distributed as freeware.

Requires Linux + snapd · Architecture: amd64
