Miniter0.9.5

Trim individual video clips and concatenate them into a finished sequence with Miniter, a basic editor for straightforward video work. Its non-linear timeline supports cutting and joining clips, while Android projects can combine multiple tracks. Transitions and text overlays are also part of its editing capabilities, although Android’s FFmpeg-based libraries limit how far the editor can go.

Built with Compose Multiplatform, Miniter is aimed mainly at Android and Linux and also provides a web version that runs more slowly but can export videos. It suits people assembling simple clips, cutting unwanted footage, or preparing basic multi-track edits without the complexity of a full production suite. The project is currently a prototype in mostly maintenance mode, with a Rust backend introduced since version 0.7.

The Android release requires Android 7.0 or later on arm64-v8a hardware, and Miniter is open-source software in the Video & Media Players category. Saved Android projects may fail to reload their media until the original videos are reimported into the tracks and then removed again, which places them in the cache for the project to find. Version 0.9.5 fixes the F-Droid build.
