About
Click Mousai’s listen button while a song is playing, and it identifies the track in a few seconds. The result includes the song title and artist, giving listeners a quick answer when a broadcast, video, or nearby recording catches their attention. Audio can come either from desktop playback or from a microphone, so it works with songs heard through the computer as well as sound in the surrounding room.
Recognized songs can be saved for later offline access, allowing users to build a personal collection of identified tracks over time. Mousai also includes an in-app preview, and it can browse to and play the selected song through different providers. These features suit listeners cataloging unfamiliar music, checking a track during playback, or revisiting discoveries after recognition.
Mousai uses the audd.io API for song recognition; logging in at audd.io provides access to more trials. It is open-source Music & Audio software developed by Soumyadeep Ghosh. The current version is 0.7.8, and it requires Linux with snapd on an x86_64 (amd64) system.
