NASA Images1.1.1

NASA Images presents a randomly chosen picture from NASA’s Image and Video Library so users can examine NASA imagery directly on an Android device. The app places the selected image alongside its description and other information associated with that item, giving context instead of showing an image alone. Its random picker provides a changing starting point for exploration, so browsing does not begin with selecting a known title or subject.

After viewing an image, a user can save it to the device for later access or pass it to another app through the sharing controls available on the device. These actions make the app useful for casual browsing, discovering unfamiliar NASA imagery, or reviewing the background attached to a picture. It is aimed at Android users who want a simple way to move through material in the NASA Image and Video Library rather than manually choose each item first. The presentation centers on one library selection at a time, keeping browsing focused on the picture and its accompanying details.

NASA Images is open-source and runs on Android 4.1 or newer. The current version is 1.1.1, and the Android build uses Universal architecture.
