nGIF2.3.51-beta

nGIF opens photos, animated GIFs, and WebM media in one compact desktop viewer, giving Linux users a straightforward way to inspect different visual file types. It displays both still images and moving content, so a single program can cover basic photo viewing and lightweight media playback. Its scope stays focused on opening and viewing files rather than organizing a broader media library or managing collections.

The program suits people who want to quickly check an image, watch a GIF, or view a WebM clip on a Linux desktop. Snoot Man is the developer behind nGIF, which is distributed as open-source software. Version 2.3.51-beta requires Linux with snapd and is built for x86_64 (amd64) systems.

nGIF is best understood as a small viewer for everyday visual files rather than a full media-management system. The project is no longer maintained, an important consideration for anyone choosing it for continued use. Almond Viewer has succeeded nGIF and is the relevant option for users seeking a successor with ongoing development.
