Picard Barcode Scanner1.8

Scan a CD or LP barcode with your Android device and send the matching release to MusicBrainz Picard on your desktop computer. Picard Barcode Scanner searches MusicBrainz for releases associated with the scanned code, then loads the results into Picard for tagging. It transfers album identification to Picard rather than editing music files on the Android device itself.

The app is particularly useful when you have already digitized a physical collection and want your files tagged according to the exact editions you own. It works as a companion to Picard, helping collectors identify albums from their shelves without manually searching for each release. Its barcode-based workflow covers both CDs and LPs while leaving the actual music-file tagging to the desktop application.

Using it requires MusicBrainz Picard 1.0 or later, with the Android device and the computer running Picard connected to the same network and port 8000 accessible. It runs on Android 6.0 or newer and uses a Universal architecture. Version 1.8 is open-source software published under the GPLv3 license, and language contributors can participate through the Picard Barcode Scanner localization project.
