Polaris lets you access and play music from a Polaris streaming server on an Android device, keeping a server-based collection available when you are away from it. The app connects to that server to retrieve the music for listening on the go. It is intended for people who already have access to a Polaris server and want to use its library remotely.

A shuffle mode plays songs in a non-sequential order for casual listening. Song preloading prepares tracks before they are needed for playback, which can help during changing network conditions. Offline mode supports listening when there is no active connection to the server, including situations with limited or unavailable connectivity.

This open-source client is listed in the Video & Media Players category and runs on operating-system version 7.0 or later. It supports the arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, and x86_64 architectures. The current 0.10.4 release fixes a bug that could make the mini-player disappear while navigating. Development contributions are made in agersant/polaris-android on GitHub, and contributing there requires an account.
