About
Create and edit Amiga-style tracker music by placing notes, instruments, and effects into ProTracker pattern data, then arrange those patterns into complete songs. ProTracker (pt2-clone) recreates the classic ProTracker software from the Commodore Amiga era as a highly accurate ProTracker 2.3D clone. Claudio Matsuoka’s portable implementation is written in C with SDL 2, making the familiar tracker workflow available on Linux.
Its additional audio filters and mixer refinements are designed to bring playback closer to the character of a real Amiga computer. The program suits musicians making chip-era or tracker-based compositions, as well as users studying and recreating classic module-writing techniques. French keyboard users should avoid holding Shift while entering numbers in pattern data, and systems with multiple monitors running at different refresh rates may encounter program issues.
The Linux release requires Linux and snapd, supports amd64, arm64, armhf, i386, ppc64el, and s390x systems, and is freeware. Host keyboard settings can interfere with important shortcuts: NVIDIA users may need to disable conflicting GeForce Experience bindings, while Alt+F4 and Alt+F5 may need to be reassigned in the operating system for pattern copying and pasting. If F11 does not trigger fullscreen, the Fn key or an operating-system shortcut change may be necessary. The current version is 1.57-aadb24e.
Requires Linux + snapd · Architecture: amd64, arm64, armhf, i386, ppc64el, s390x
