Purite

Purite is a Linux application in the Graphics & Design category that turns image folders on your computer into a changing gallery. It presents the images in arrangements that continually change rather than following a fixed playlist or repeating loop. The result is a display designed to let the artwork itself shape what appears next.

You can link folders already stored on your device, organise them into sets, and switch between those sets whenever you choose. Purite uses a true-randomness engine to select images independently, with cooldowns that prevent the same images from appearing again too soon. Its cryptography-grade entropy engine operates at multiple stages to support this randomisation without algorithms intended to steer your perception.

Selecting an image opens it in a full-screen, distraction-free view. Purite also includes a curated collection of public-domain masterpieces, so it can provide artwork before you add your own folders. It reads only the folders you select, keeps the content local, and does not upload anything or send it away from your device.
