About
Select a satellite region in the embedded map view, retrieve its tiles, and combine them into one large map with PyMapStitcher - Map Downloader. This desktop application exports very large satellite areas as GeoTIFF or BigTIFF files, applying georeferencing directly so the results retain their geographic position. The high-resolution output is suited to GIS workflows that require a single, accurately positioned raster rather than separate map tiles.
Its low-RAM design handles large mapping areas while high-performance tile processing helps build extensive mosaics efficiently. NVIDIA CUDA and CuPy support can use GPU acceleration for supported processing workloads. The WebView-based map selector provides an interactive way to define the area before stitching and exporting it.
GIS professionals, cartographers, researchers, and analysts can use it for satellite-area capture, regional mapping, and preparation of GIS-ready imagery. It is particularly useful when a project needs a very large georeferenced raster in GeoTIFF or BigTIFF format. Published by Tarek Wasfy, version 3.0.6 is freeware for amd64 Linux and requires snapd in addition to the Linux system.
Requires Linux + snapd · Architecture: amd64
