About
RPClient lets users conduct AI roleplay conversations and develop stories with one or more characters on an Android device. As an open-source Developer Tools client, it handles familiar tavern-style character cards and lorebooks while being designed specifically for mobile use rather than serving as an Android remake of SillyTavern. It suits writers, roleplayers, and creators who want to build characters, continue fictional conversations, or develop longer narratives away from a desktop.
Story Studio divides extended projects into volumes and chapters, with continuation prompts to help carry an ongoing plot forward. Users can create, edit, and organize characters, import JSON or PNG character cards individually or in batches, and manage imported tavern-style lorebooks, including entries assigned to mutual exclusion groups. One-on-one chats and group conversations can share the same story, while replies may be regenerated, continued, or stopped and generated from the user’s perspective.
Prompts, greetings, character settings, and story context are editable within the app, and summary memory helps preserve continuity across long sessions. Stories can be backed up or shared as .rpstory archives, while chat histories can move in or out through SillyTavern-compatible .jsonl files. Connections are available for OpenAI-compatible APIs, Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, and custom providers, with separate models assignable to individual characters and summaries; RPClient does not include its own AI model service, so users must configure a provider or API key, and requests go to that selected provider.
Chats, stories, characters, and settings are stored on the device by default. Version 2026.3.1 runs on Android 8.0 or later and supports arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 architectures.
Requires Android 8.0+ · Architecture: arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, x86
