Share via HTTP lets you send one or several files from an Android phone by selecting them in the system Share menu. It starts a small HTTP server and presents a link that recipients can open to retrieve the shared content. When multiple items are selected, the app creates a ZIP archive while the transfer is in progress rather than requiring a separate archive beforehand. This makes it useful for passing files directly to nearby people or to several recipients at once.

The link appears on a screen that also provides a QR code when the app identified as com.google.zxing.client.android is installed. Over Wi-Fi, recipients must be connected to the same local network as the phone for the link to work. Over GSM mobile data, including 2G or 3G, the link should work from anywhere, although transfers will be slower. The server can be ended from the link screen, while pressing Back returns from the barcode view.

Share via HTTP suits developers, technicians, and everyday Android users who need a quick phone-to-device transfer without an intermediary service. It does not add an icon to the app list, so its entry point is the Share menu rather than a conventional launcher screen. The software is open-source, runs on Android, and is supplied as a Universal architecture build. The current version is 2.17.
