SideDeck lets Android users load local music onto two virtual decks and mix it with waveforms, a crossfader, and hands-on deck controls. Its landscape layout includes sync, loops, BPM nudging and jumping, plus a 3-band EQ and filter for shaping each track. Music can be loaded from folders on the phone, with BPM and musical-key analysis performed as tracks are loaded.

For hardware mixing, connect a USB mixer and route Deck A and Deck B as separate stereo channels, allowing the external device to handle cueing, EQ, and the blend. SideDeck is built around the Teenage Engineering EP-136 K.O. Sidekick: set the Sidekick to USB Multi mode, enable the external mixer option, and mix on its controls while the on-screen EQ and crossfader step aside. Other USB mixers that accept separate outputs for both decks can use the same arrangement.

The app also connects to any Subsonic-compatible music server, where users can browse albums and tracks and download selections to the device. Its library highlights keys that work well with music already loaded on a deck, making it useful for home practice, mobile sets, and hardware-based performances. SideDeck suits DJs who want local playback, server-based music access, or a compact Android setup that can extend to a USB mixer.

It runs on Android 8.0 or later, and external mixing requires a phone with USB host (OTG) support. SideDeck is open-source software under the GNU GPL v3, with no monthly subscription, paywall, or premium tier.
