SimpleScreenRecorder (UNOFFICIAL)

SimpleScreenRecorder (UNOFFICIAL) captures activity on a computer and saves it as a video recording, giving users a practical way to create demonstrations, tutorials, presentations, or records of desktop work. It supports multiple video formats and codecs, so users can choose how recordings are encoded and stored. The application is published by 林博仁 Buo-ren Lin and is open-source.

When the computer cannot maintain the chosen frame rate, the recorder can reduce that rate to keep the capture going under heavier performance demands. Its fully multithreaded design separates activity across components, reducing the chance that one operation will hold up another. Systems with multiple processors can benefit from this design through smoother video capture.

An experimental live-streaming feature also lets users send captured content as a stream instead of only writing it to a file. The current snap build does not support OpenGL recording because snap confinement and separated libraries prevent that capability. This Linux software requires Linux with snapd and is provided for x86_64 (amd64) systems.
