Sweet IPFS0.2

Run and manage an IPFS node directly from an Android device, using Sweet IPFS to share files and text through a decentralized network. It targets end users and developers who want IPFS to become part of everyday file exchange rather than remain a desktop-only technology. A built-in file chooser lets you select content, while QR codes provide another way to share it and an integrated browser lets you access IPFS content. You can also send a file or text to Sweet IPFS from any other app through Android’s sharing feature.

The app combines mobile node management with practical sharing functions for testing, personal exchanges, and development work involving IPFS. Its current beta state means some features are still unfinished, although the most important functions are available. Sweet IPFS is forked from the experimental IPFSdroid project, and users can report bugs or other problems through the project’s provided email contact. The project is open-source.

Current version 0.2 runs on Android 5.0 or later and uses a Universal architecture. Battery and network consumption depend substantially on the phone and its Android version, and usage may be high in some configurations. Ongoing work focuses on improving those demands and making the application more practical for everyday use.
