VLC for Android3.7.1

Play local videos and music, browse network shares and drives, open DVD ISO images, and watch network streams from one player on Android. As a Video & Media Players title, VLC for Android is the Android port of VLC media player and brings those sources together in one application. It suits people who keep media on device storage, shared disks, or streaming services, as well as viewers using a phone, tablet, or TV.

Supported formats include MKV, MP4, AVI, MOV, Ogg, FLAC, TS, M2TS, Wv, and AAC, with codecs included in the player. Video features cover subtitles, Teletext, closed captions, multiple audio and subtitle tracks, automatic rotation, aspect-ratio controls, and gestures for volume, brightness, and seeking. Users can browse folders directly or arrange content through the media library.

For music, VLC provides a database, equalizer, filters, cover art, and a dedicated audio library, plus a playback widget and headset-control support. It handles network streams with adaptive streaming and disk shares, and also provides storage access, network connection checks, volume changes, ringtone setting, and popup view; Android TV support extends it to television devices.

Version 3.7.1 fixes equalizer behavior and allows remote access to play audio media in a browser.

Free to use — a paid version with additional features is also available.
