VMPK for Android1.5.1

VMPK for Android turns an Android device into a virtual MIDI controller that generates MIDI events for sound production and control. It gives users an on-screen source for MIDI input in setups that need keyboard or controller messages. As the Android port of Virtual MIDI Piano Keyboard, it brings this virtual keyboard approach to mobile devices.

The built-in Sonivox EAS software MIDI synthesizer can produce sound directly on the device. When a separate MIDI environment is preferred, the app sends MIDI events across a local network using a compatible IPMIDI protocol. This lets Android users choose between hearing the generated parts locally and routing performance or control data to another compatible network setup.

It is intended for people working with MIDI-based music, sound, or control systems, including situations where a portable Android-based MIDI source is useful. VMPK for Android is distributed under an open-source license, allowing its source and licensing terms to be used and reviewed under that model. The current release is version 1.5.1 and requires Android 10 or later.

Supported processor architectures are arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86. The app’s central role is creating MIDI events, while its embedded synthesizer and IPMIDI networking provide two distinct ways to use those events in an Android workflow.
