Blockbench5.2.1

Create low-poly 3D models and pixel-art textures in Blockbench, then paint, animate, and prepare them for use in creative projects. It solves the need for a focused workspace for boxy, low-detail assets, combining modeling, UV setup, texture work, and animation in one program. Cuboids can produce a Minecraft-like look, while mesh-modeling tools support more complex low-poly shapes.

You can paint directly across the model in 3D, work in a 2D texture editor, or connect an external image editor or pixel-art program. Blockbench can generate a UV map and texture template automatically, and it supports creating or importing palettes, painting, and drawing shapes. Its animation editor supports rigging plus position, rotation, and scale keyframes, with a graph editor for refining motion.

The built-in plugin store adds tools, model generators, and support for additional export formats, and developers can write their own plugins for custom features or formats. This makes Blockbench useful to game artists, Minecraft content creators, and other designers building stylized assets, animated characters, or textured props.

The current Mac release is version 5.2.1 and requires macOS 12 Monterey or newer on Apple Silicon (arm64). Classified under Photo & Graphics, it is freeware released under the GPL license and can be used for any type of project.
