Sentry applies selected security policies on an Android device, giving users control over password failures, USB data access, safe boot, and related notifications. It can set the maximum number of unsuccessful password attempts and alert the user when those attempts occur. It can also report when an application gains Internet permission after an update even though it did not have that permission previously.

On Android 12, Sentry can disable USB data connections when the device uses USB HAL 1.3 and the app has Device Owner status. On Android 7, Device Owner status enables its safe-boot disabling control, which can be useful on devices where those restrictions must be enforced. The DEVICE_ADMIN permission handles failed-password limits, while DEVICE_OWNER enables the USB data restriction.

Sentry uses NOTIFICATION_LISTENER to receive lock and package events, and QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES to receive events from all packages. It may not function in safe mode, so policies and notifications that depend on it can be unavailable there. The app suits Android users managing security controls on personal or administered devices, especially when failed logins, removable-device data access, or permission changes need attention.

Sentry 1.1.2 runs on Android 6.0 or later with Universal architecture and is released as open-source software under GPL-3. This version includes the safe-boot-mode disabling option for Android 7 devices with Device Owner status and updates the Russian translation, with contributions credited to Dmitry Grigoryev (icecom) and Photon_Gilbert.
