Yubico Authenticator generates OATH one-time passwords by reading a YubiKey NEO over NFC, so authentication codes can be retrieved without placing the underlying secret on the phone. The credential remains on a hardware-backed security key that can travel between mobile and desktop use, helping protect accounts against takeovers. The app works without network connectivity when accessing the key’s stored credentials.

It displays a YubiKey’s serial number, firmware version, and supported capabilities, and manages OATH accounts stored on the key. It also configures PINs and fingerprints, manages WebAuthn/FIDO passkeys, handles PIV PIN, PUK, and management-key settings, and works with private keys and certificates. Additional controls provision Yubico OTP, static passwords, and other slot-based credentials, enable or disable key features, and factory-reset YubiKey data.
